Comparing Items
Verbally comparing items is an excellent way to improve language skills. It can help improve a child's ability to organize thoughts and expressions, understand and use descriptive terms and build vocabulary.
For each picture pair below, have the child provide two ways in which the items are alike and two ways they are different. This activity can be repeated using books, magazines or movies. You can do this type of activity while driving in the car or waiting for an appointment.
